Day 18-20: Freelance Malaise
"Everyone! Quit your 9 to 5 and work for yourself! Don't be a slave to the man, fight for freedom!" I swear that's the screaming anthem of the modern millennial. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my lifestyle most of the time. I sit around uploading photos while eating candy next to my dog on the couch. It's great. Until I realize I've only been talking to my dog for the last three days. Then it sucks. Especially because I'm an extrovert. A shy extrovert which makes life more annoying but that's another story. Anyways, my usual solution is to head to the coffeeshop and co-work with friends. It's the best thing ever! Except that I'm noticing that a huge portion of my budget is allocated to tea and coffee. I want to say I've cut back on coffee shopping but I haven't at all. I just really enjoy it. I did finally stop eating lunches there and have convinced a few friends to co-work with me at my house on occasion, but for the sake of not becoming a lonely freelance blob on the couch, I'll continue to happily piss my earnings away. I wonder what Carla will have to say about this post...
Steve's HOT TIP: Sneak in your mom's homemade biscotti into a coffeeshop and share with friends. (That's not really a hot tip, that's just what he did for me today. Thanks Steve!)
